Gov. and former San Francisco mayor Gavin Newsom (D-CA) is sponsoring an initiative to bring even more gun control to the Golden State. However, he isn&#8217;t doing this without opposition. Gov.<br \/>\nGavin Newsom\u2019s \u201cSafety for All Act\u201d Gun Control Ballot Initiative<\/i><\/b><\/span><\/a><\/div>\n<p><\/span><\/p>\n<div>\n<span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\"><i><br \/><\/i><\/span><\/div>\n<p><i>SACRAMENTO \u2013 In response to the <a href=\"https:\/\/13944-presscdn-0-64-pagely.netdna-ssl.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/15-0098-Firearms.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">official filing<\/a><br \/>\n earlier today of California Lt. Gov. Gavin Newsom\u2019s mis-named \u201cThe<br \/>\nSafety for All Act of 2016,\u201d civil rights advocates at Firearms Policy<br \/>\nCoalition (FPC) and the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fpcsadc.org\/2015\/10\/27\/firearms-policy-coalition-ramps-gun-rights-grassroots-oppose-lt-gov-gavin-newsoms-safety-act-gun-control-ballot-initiative\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Firearms Policy Coalition Second Amendment Defense Committee<\/a><br \/>\n (FPCSADC) political action committee have begun shipping out over<br \/>\n25,000 grassroots activism guides to volunteers and activism hubs<br \/>\nthroughout the state.<\/p>\n<p>FPCSADC President Brandon Combs expects to ship an additional 75,000 grassroots guides within the next week.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe<br \/>\n are committed to building the biggest, most-organized, and highly<br \/>\ninformed Second Amendment grassroots army ever seen in California to<br \/>\nfight and oppose Gavin Newsom\u2019s assault on our civil rights,\u201d said<br \/>\nCombs. \u201cWe want 100,000 volunteers working on this by the end of the<br \/>\nyear. This initial deployment is just the beginning of our much larger<br \/>\nopposition plan.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Newsom\u2019s ballot initiative would make numerous changes to state law, including, but not limited to:<\/i><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><i>Instituting<br \/>\n a total, confiscatory ban on the possession of \u201clarge-capacity<br \/>\nmagazines\u201d \u2013 even legally-owned \u201cgrandfathered\u201d magazines and those that<br \/>\n are possessed by active and retired law enforcement officers;<\/i><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><i>Adding<br \/>\n severe and expensive new restrictions on ammunition purchases,<br \/>\nincluding a mandatory DOJ ammunition purchase permit for anyone who<br \/>\nwants to buy ammunition, a ban on private ammunition sales, and a gun<br \/>\nowner database of ammunition purchasers;<\/i><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><i>A ban on the private purchase and importation of ammunition from out-of-state retailers;<\/i><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><i>Requiring<br \/>\n all ammunition sellers to acquire a special DOJ ammunition sales permit<br \/>\n and to have every employee that handles or sells ammunition to have a<br \/>\nDOJ-issued Certificate of Eligibility;<\/i><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><i>A $25 Million theft of fees paid by gun owners to fund the new DOJ ammunition program;<\/i><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><i>And other gun control regulations that have already failed passage in the Legislature or were vetoed by Governor Jerry Brown.<\/i><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><i>\u201cFPC<br \/>\n and the Second Amendment Defense Committee are absolutely dedicated to<br \/>\nstopping Gavin\u2019s unconstitutional gun grab,\u201d explained Combs. \u201cThe<br \/>\ninfrastructure is in place, and we have retained counsel and specialized<br \/>\n experts to maximize the success of our opposition campaign.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThese<br \/>\n measures will do nothing to advance public safety, but they will<br \/>\nfurther undermine the Second Amendment rights of all Californians,\u201d<br \/>\ncontinued Combs. \u201cThe time to draw a line in the sand is right now.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Newsom<br \/>\n would need to collect about 366,000 valid signatures to qualify the<br \/>\nproposal for the 2016 general election ballot. From there, it would be<br \/>\nan up or down vote by the people of California.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAll California<br \/>\ngun owners and civil rights organizations must stand together, dig in,<br \/>\nand do whatever it takes to defeat this anti-rights initiative at the<br \/>\nballot box,\u201d said Combs.<\/i><\/p>\n<div>\n<i><br \/><\/i><\/div>\n<div>\n<i>\u201cWe are committed to working<br \/>\n with our friends at the National Rifle Association, California Rifle<br \/>\nand Pistol Association, Gun Owners of California, Citizens Committee for<br \/>\n the Right to Keep and Bear Arms, and many other civil rights groups to<br \/>\ndefend fundamental, individual Second Amendment rights against Newsom\u2019s<br \/>\nunconstitutional attack.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Concluded Combs, \u201cWhen Newsom first<br \/>\nannounced this awful gun control scheme, we promised to bring the fight<br \/>\nto him.
