Tonight, after reading <a href=\"http:\/\/gunfreezone.net\/wordpress\/index.php\/2015\/03\/04\/dont-mess-with-the-finns\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">a post on Miguel&#8217;s blog<\/a>, I went looking for a site that had flags of the world. While there, I came across a section labeled &#8220;historical flags&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>And this is what I found.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<div class=\"separator\" style=\"clear: both; text-align: center;\">\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.crwflags.com\/art\/hist\/richardson-joinordie.gif\" imageanchor=\"1\" style=\"margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" border=\"0\" src=\"http:\/\/www.crwflags.com\/art\/hist\/richardson-joinordie.gif\" height=\"384\" width=\"640\" \/><\/a><\/div>\n<p>You&#8217;re probably thinking, OK, it&#8217;s just another one of those &#8220;join or die&#8221; flags that are a<a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/File:Benjamin_Franklin_-_Join_or_Die.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> take-off on the Benjamin Franklin cartoon<\/a>. Ah, not so fast.<\/p>\n<p>It is not just a &#8220;join or die&#8221; flag, it is the&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.crwflags.com\/page0660richardson-joinordie.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Richardson&#8217;s Join or Die Flag<\/a>! How cool is that.<\/p>\n<p>The flag was shown in Edward Richardson&#8217;s book <a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/gp\/product\/0812278399\/ref=as_li_tl?ie=UTF8&amp;camp=1789&amp;creative=390957&amp;creativeASIN=0812278399&amp;linkCode=as2&amp;tag=nolaonguanmo-20&amp;linkId=DXT4OFJAL6JDB4AF\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Standards and Colors of the American Revolution<\/a><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" border=\"0\" src=\"http:\/\/ir-na.amazon-adsystem.com\/e\/ir?t=nolaonguanmo-20&amp;l=as2&amp;o=1&amp;a=0812278399\" height=\"1\" style=\"border: none !important; margin: 0px !important;\" width=\"1\" \/>&nbsp;and that is where it derives its name. Now the question is do I want to spend $65 or so for this flag.
