They are currently supporting a case, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.floridacarry.org\/index.php\/litigation-32\/21-statecourt\/70-norman-v-state?utm_source=Copy+of+FL+Attorney+General%27s+Office+tries+again+to+scuttle+challenge+to+Open+Ca&amp;utm_campaign=Norman&amp;utm_medium=email\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Norman v. State<\/a>, which is an appeal from a county court&#8217;s ruling that Dale Norman, a legal and licensed concealed carry permit holder, violated that Florida&#8217;s open carry ban when his pistol showed under his concealment garment. The appeal has been accepted by the Florida 4th Circuit Court of Appeals as a constitutional challenge.<\/p>\n<p>However, it seems that certain anti-gun elements within the Florida Attorney General&#8217;s Office are trying to scuttle that challenge from being heard. Florida Carry notes that Florida AG Pam Bondi has generally been very pro-gun and is not behind this move. They also note that certain local State Attorneys (Angela Corey comes to mind) are vigorously prosecuting open carry cases.<\/p>\n<p>From their release sent out yesterday:<\/p>\n<blockquote State<\/a>.<\/strong><br \/>\n                                    The<br \/>\n                                    Norman<br \/>\n                                    case<br \/>\n                                    is<br \/>\n                                    the<br \/>\n                                    only<br \/>\n                                    viable<br \/>\n                                    case<br \/>\n                                    in<br \/>\n                                    the<br \/>\n                                    country<br \/>\n                                    arguing<br \/>\n                                    for<br \/>\n                                    recognition<br \/>\n                                    of<br \/>\n                                    the<br \/>\n                                    constitutional<br \/>\n                                    right<br \/>\n                                    to<br \/>\n                                    open carry.<\/p>\n<p>Since<br \/>\n                                    the<br \/>\n                                    appeal<br \/>\n                                    was<br \/>\n                                    first<br \/>\n                                    brought,<br \/>\n                                    the<br \/>\n                                    West<br \/>\n                                    Palm<br \/>\n                                    Beach<br \/>\n                                    Office<br \/>\n                                    of<br \/>\n                                    the<br \/>\n                                    Attorney<br \/>\n                                    General<br \/>\n                                    has<br \/>\n                                    repeatedly<br \/>\n                                    attempted<br \/>\n                                    to<br \/>\n                                    derail<br \/>\n                                    the<br \/>\n                                    case<br \/>\n                                    based<br \/>\n                                    on<br \/>\n                                    procedural<br \/>\n                                    arguments<br \/>\n                                    that<br \/>\n                                    the<br \/>\n                                    lower<br \/>\n                                    court<br \/>\n                                    did<br \/>\n                                    not<br \/>\n                                    properly<br \/>\n                                    certify<br \/>\n                                    its<br \/>\n                                    questions<br \/>\n                                    of<br \/>\n                                    great<br \/>\n                                    public<br \/>\n                                    importance.<br \/>\n                                    The<br \/>\n                                    AG&#8217;s<br \/>\n                                    office<br \/>\n                                    even<br \/>\n                                    appealed<br \/>\n                                    the<br \/>\n                                    case<br \/>\n                                    to<br \/>\n                                    the<br \/>\n                                    Florida<br \/>\n                                    Supreme<br \/>\n                                    Court<br \/>\n                                    in<br \/>\n                                    an<br \/>\n                                    attempt<br \/>\n                                    to<br \/>\n                                    keep<br \/>\n                                    the<br \/>\n                                    Fourth<br \/>\n                                    District<br \/>\n                                    Court<br \/>\n                                    of<br \/>\n                                    Appeals<br \/>\n                                    from<br \/>\n                                    hearing<br \/>\n                                    the<br \/>\n                                    case.<br \/>\n                                    They<br \/>\n                                    want<br \/>\n                                    the<br \/>\n                                    case<br \/>\n                                    heard<br \/>\n                                    by a<br \/>\n                                    Circuit<br \/>\n                                    Court<br \/>\n                                    where<br \/>\n                                    a<br \/>\n                                    recognition<br \/>\n                                    of<br \/>\n                                    the<br \/>\n                                    right<br \/>\n                                    to<br \/>\n                                    carry<br \/>\n                                    will<br \/>\n                                    not<br \/>\n                                    have<br \/>\n                                    state-wide<br \/>\n                                    effect<br \/>\n                                    and<br \/>\n                                    will<br \/>\n                                    be<br \/>\n                                    decided<br \/>\n                                    by<br \/>\n                                    only<br \/>\n                                    one<br \/>\n                                    local judge.<\/p>\n<p>A<br \/>\n                                    request<br \/>\n                                    was<br \/>\n                                    sent<br \/>\n                                    to<br \/>\n                                    the<br \/>\n                                    Assistant<br \/>\n                                    Attorney<br \/>\n                                    General<br \/>\n                                    in<br \/>\n                                    Palm<br \/>\n                                    Beach<br \/>\n                                    asking<br \/>\n                                    them<br \/>\n                                    to<br \/>\n                                    consent<br \/>\n                                    to<br \/>\n                                    the<br \/>\n                                    lower<br \/>\n                                    Court<br \/>\n                                    amending<br \/>\n                                    its<br \/>\n                                    judgement<br \/>\n                                    to<br \/>\n                                    include<br \/>\n                                    the<br \/>\n                                    certified<br \/>\n                                    question<br \/>\n                                    in<br \/>\n                                    the<br \/>\n                                    order<br \/>\n                                    of<br \/>\n                                    Judgement<br \/>\n                                    and<br \/>\n                                    Sentence<br \/>\n                                    to<br \/>\n                                    correct<br \/>\n                                    the<br \/>\n                                    AG&#8217;s<br \/>\n                                    claimed<br \/>\n                                    procedural<br \/>\n                                    defect<br \/>\n                                    that<br \/>\n                                    may exist.<\/p>\n<p>Their<br \/>\n                                    response:<br \/>\n                        truly<br \/>\n                                    trying<br \/>\n                                    to<br \/>\n                                    correct<br \/>\n                                    an<br \/>\n                                    alleged<br \/>\n                                    procedural<br \/>\n                                    error<br \/>\n                                    by<br \/>\n                                    the<br \/>\n                                    lower<br \/>\n                                    court<br \/>\n                                    it,<br \/>\n                                    would<br \/>\n                                    have<br \/>\n                                    consented.<br \/>\n                                    Instead,<br \/>\n                                    they<br \/>\n                                    punted.  <\/p>\n<p>To<br \/>\n                                    quote<br        pro-gun<br \/>\n                                    record<br \/>\n                                    of<br \/>\n                                    Florida<br \/>\n                                    Attorney<br \/>\n                                    General<br \/>\n                                    Pamela<br \/>\n                                    Bondi<br \/>\n                                    who<br \/>\n                                    has<br \/>\n                                    signed<br \/>\n                                    on<br \/>\n                                    to<br \/>\n                                    support<br \/>\n                                    many<br \/>\n                                    important<br \/>\n                                    federal<br \/>\n                                    amicus<br \/>\n                                    briefs<br \/>\n                                    to<br \/>\n                                    the<br \/>\n                                    U.S.<br \/>\n                                    Supreme<br \/>\n                                    Court<br \/>\n                                    that<br \/>\n                                    were<br \/>\n                                    filed<br \/>\n                                    by<br \/>\n                                    other<br \/>\n                                    state&#8217;s<br \/>\n                                    AGs,<br \/>\n                                    but<br \/>\n                                    her<br \/>\n                                    own<br \/>\n                                    office<br \/>\n                                    is<br \/>\n                                    apparently<br \/>\n                                    in<br \/>\n                                    need<br \/>\n                                    some<br \/>\n                                    deep<br \/>\n                                    house cleaning.<\/p>\n<p>                                    <strong>The<br \/>\n                                    ruling<br \/>\n                                    and<br \/>\n                                    intent<br \/>\n                                    of<br \/>\n                                    the<br \/>\n                                    lower<br \/>\n                                    court<br \/>\n                                    is<br \/>\n                                    clear,<br \/>\n                                    that<br \/>\n                                    this<br \/>\n                                    case<br \/>\n                                    be<br \/>\n                                    reviewed<br \/>\n                                    by<br \/>\n                                    a<br \/>\n                                    panel<br \/>\n                                    of<br \/>\n                                    appellate<br \/>\n                                    court<br \/>\n                                    judges<br \/>\n                                    as<br \/>\n                                    a<br \/>\n                                    matter<br \/>\n                                    of<br \/>\n                                    great<br \/>\n                                    public<br \/>\n                                    importance<br \/>\n                                    that<br \/>\n                                    impacts<br \/>\n                                    thousands<br \/>\n                                    of<br \/>\n                                    law<br \/>\n                               moving.<br \/>\n                                    Corey&#8217;s<br \/>\n                                    office<br \/>\n                                    claims<br \/>\n                                    that<br \/>\n                                    it<br \/>\n                                    was<br \/>\n                                    no<br \/>\n                                    longer<br \/>\n                                    his<br \/>\n                                    home,<br \/>\n                                    since<br \/>\n                                    he<br \/>\n                                    was<br \/>\n                                    moving,<br \/>\n                                    and<br \/>\n                                    is<br \/>\n                                    prosecuting<br \/>\n                                    him<br \/>\n                                    for<br \/>\n margin-top: 0.0px;\">\nIn<br \/>\n                                    the<br \/>\n                                    second,<br \/>\n                                    a<br \/>\n                                    CWFL<br \/>\n                                    licensee<br \/>\n                                    has<br \/>\n                                    been<br \/>\n                                    sentenced<br \/>\n                                    to<br \/>\n                                    60<br \/>\n                                    days<br \/>\n                                    in<br \/>\n                                    jail<br \/>\n                                    for<br \/>\n                                    an<br \/>\n                                    open<br \/>\n                                    carry<br \/>\n                                    ban<br \/>\n                                    violation<br \/>\n                                    after<br \/>\n                                    his<br \/>\n                                    shirt<br \/>\n                                    rode<br \/>\n                                    up<br \/>\n                                    over<br \/>\n                                    his<br \/>\n                                    holster<br \/>\n                                    in a<br \/>\n                                    store<br \/>\n                                    exposing<br \/>\n                                    his firearm.<\/p>\n<p>It<br \/>\n                                    is<br \/>\n                                    time<br \/>\n                                    to<br \/>\n                                    <a
