San Diego<\/i>, the court found that requiring &#8220;good cause&#8221; to get a carry permit violates the Second Amendment. The court said the state of California can decide what training and background checks are required as well as the manner of carry. However, they can&#8217;t preclude the vast majority of Californians from exercising their right to carry.<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/news\/volokh-conspiracy\/wp\/2014\/02\/13\/ninth-circuit-strikes-californias-restrictive-rule-against-licensed-carry-of-handguns\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><br \/><\/a><br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/news\/volokh-conspiracy\/wp\/2014\/02\/13\/ninth-circuit-strikes-californias-restrictive-rule-against-licensed-carry-of-handguns\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Dave Kopel has more here <\/a>at the Volokh Conspiracy page of the Washington Post.<\/p>\n<p>Here is <a href=\"http:\/\/onlygunsandmoney.blogspot.com\/2010\/11\/peruta-v-san-diego-challenge-to-good.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">some background<\/a> on the original case, <a href=\"http:\/\/onlygunsandmoney.blogspot.com\/2010\/12\/judge-rules-for-san-diego-in-concealed.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">the decision by District Court Judge Irma Gonzalez<\/a>, and the <a href=\"http:\/\/onlygunsandmoney.blogspot.com\/2010\/12\/peruta-case-appealed-to-ninth-circuit.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">decision to appeal the case<\/a> to the 9th Circuit.
