It was reported first on <a href=\"http:\/\/sqrpt.com\/2013\/10\/17\/squirrel-report-78\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Squirrel Report<\/a> and then on <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ma-rooned.com\/2013\/10\/so-big-news.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">his blog<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.shootingwire.com\/story\/302549\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The NRA has now issued a press release<\/a> announcing that Jay will be the new Associate Editor. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.saysuncle.com\/2013\/10\/24\/graduation\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">As SayUncle notes<\/a>, &#8220;JayG has gone from blogger to one of those guys that sends out emails of his press releases to bloggers.&#8221;And I might note, it couldn&#8217;t have happened to a nicer guy.<\/p>\n<p>What caught my eye was the picture of Jay accompanying the article. Jay is shown holding what appears to be a Mossberg 590A1 with a bayonet.<\/p>\n<div class=\"separator\" style=\"clear: both; text-align: center;\">\n<a href=\"https:\/\/onlygunsandmoney.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/10\/jayG.jpg\" imageanchor=\"1\" style=\"margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" border=\"0\" height=\"400\" src=\"https:\/\/onlygunsandmoney.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/10\/jayG.jpg\" width=\"266\" \/><\/a><\/div>\n<p>\nThe only thing that could have made the picture better would have been if Jay had been holding the shotgun over his head a&#8217;la Red Dawn and shouting &#8220;Freedom!&#8221;. It would have been an appropriate way to celebrate his departure from the Volksrepublik.
