This has so dominated the news regarding gun rights in that state that I almost forgot about another story that has pretty much flown under the radar.<\/p>\n<p>Last August, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives moved around a number of field division heads. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.atf.gov\/press\/releases\/2012\/08\/080712-den-new-leader-for-denver-field-division.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Denver Field Division got a new Special Agent in Charge<\/a> whose name should be very familiar to readers of this blog &#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/onlygunsandmoney.blogspot.com\/2010\/11\/who-is-andrew-traver.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Andrew Traver<\/a>. At the time of his transfer from Chicago, Traver was still the official nominee to become the Director of BATFE. <\/p>\n<p>Traver had this to say about working in Denver:<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"tr_bq\"><p>\n<br \/>\n\u201c<i><br \/>\nI am<br \/>\nhighly<br \/>\nencouraged to see the great<br \/>\ncooperative<br \/>\nrelationships ATF has established<br \/>\nwith our law enforcement partners throughout the entire Denver Field Division,\u201d said<br \/>\nMr.<br \/>\nTraver. \u201cWe will continue to target<br \/>\nthe most<br \/>\nviolent offenders with the<br \/>\ngoal of reducing<br \/>\nviolent crime and making our communities<br \/>\nsafer place<br \/>\ns<br \/>\nto live.\u201d <\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>I know it is just a coincidence that Traver is the SAC of the Denver Field Division and that Colorado is now saddled with new gun control laws.
