He had a little Holiness<br \/>\ncongregation over in Canton. His day job, I kid you not,  was as a wholesale bait dealer .<\/p>\n<p>Our sheriff at the<br \/>\ntime who didn&#8217;t exactly have a sterling reputation went to break up one of his outdoor revivals on the grounds that<br \/>\nsnake handling is illegal in North Carolina. <a href=\"http:\/\/news.google.com\/newspapers?nid=1665&amp;dat=19850806&amp;id=GKVPAAAAIBAJ&amp;sjid=mCQEAAAAIBAJ&amp;pg=5675,6366060\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">One thing lead to another and the sheriff got bit by the rattler<\/a>. The sheriff made it to the hospital in time and lived.
