I thought it kind of strange but then there was this in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetrace.org\/newsletter\/a-ceasefire-weekend-brings-relief-to-a-shellshocked-city\/\" class=\"rank-math-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>today&#8217;s The Trace.<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p><strong>Grumblings from\u00a0the NRA board?<\/strong>: Phillip Journey, a judge in Kansas who won his seat as an NRA director in 2020 and also served on the group\u2019s board in the 1990s,\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/thetrace.us11.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u=ede67bec056d768ad181c8db1&amp;id=95964eeccd&amp;e=c4b7b8b61a\" target=\"_blank\">notified<\/a>\u00a0the Texas court hearing the gun group\u2019s bankruptcy case that he\u2019s secured representation in the case. My colleague Will Van Sant\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/thetrace.us11.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u=ede67bec056d768ad181c8db1&amp;id=6f3969e76e&amp;e=c4b7b8b61a\" target=\"_blank\">notes<\/a>: \u201cI\u2019d heard recently that Journey and a handful of other board members have concerns about actions taken by the NRA\u2019s current leadership.\u201d Journey has indicated he may take further action in the case, but offered no details.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>It could be that Journey and some others are seeking to be a &#8220;white knight&#8221; and save the NRA leadership from itself and the ambitions of William Brewer III. I guess we will know soon enough.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetrace.org\/newsletter\/a-ceasefire-weekend-brings-relief-to-a-shellshocked-city\/\" class=\"rank-math-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>In other NRA news from The Trace<\/strong><\/a>, I learned that the US Judicial Panel on Multidistrict Litigation had turned down the NRA&#8217;s request to consolidate all their cases into US District Court for the Northern District of Texas. That includes the Dell&#8217;Aquila class action suit in Tennessee, the NRA&#8217;s suit against Letitia James in New York, and two AckMac related suits in Texas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The panel said that despite the NRA&#8217;s assertion of factual overlap they just didn&#8217;t find enough to warrant moving the cases to Texas. Lest you think the panel was filled with anti-2A judges, Judge Roger T.
