Today on the Senate floor, Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-NY) was railing about &#8220;gun violence&#8221; (sic) and was inflating the numbers as usual. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/EmilyMillerDC\/posts\/295986168562415\" class=\"rank-math-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Emily Miller pointed out the hypocrisy<\/strong><\/a> of Facebook in not forcing posts of Schumer&#8217;s speech to give attribution for these numbers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>My friend Tim Glance of <a href=\"http:\/\/ogsurplus-com.3dcartstores.com\/\" class=\"rank-math-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Old Grouch&#8217;s Military Surplus<\/strong><\/a> <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/onlygunsandmoney.com\/2011\/02\/28\/real-military-surplus-stores.html\" class=\"rank-math-link\">fame<\/a> <\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/EmilyMillerDC\/posts\/295986168562415?comment_id=295992841895081\" class=\"rank-math-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>pointed out the absurdity<\/strong><\/a> of referring to suicide by firearm as &#8220;gun violence&#8221; since no other means used to kill oneself is characterized that way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>Do the same people that label suicides \u201cgun violence\u201d also label people jumping off bridges or buildings as \u201cgravity violence\u201d?<\/p><p>Is overdosing \u201cpharmaceutical violence\u201d?<\/p><p>Is hanging yourself \u201ccordage violence\u201d?<\/p><p>Since it\u2019s not you can see right away the dishonesty in the narrative.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>As Tim noted to me in a message when I asked permission to quote him, asking if all suicide is violence shuts down those who are argue that suicide by firearm is &#8220;gun violence.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you are thinking of ending your life, please get help. There are a lot of good groups out there like <a href=\"https:\/\/walkthetalkamerica.org\/\" class=\"rank-math-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Walk The Talk America<\/strong><\/a>, the <a href=\"https:\/\/afsp.org\/\" class=\"rank-math-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>American Society for Suicide Prevention<\/strong><\/a>, and <a href=\"https:\/\/intheforefront.org\/firearm-retailer-training\/\" class=\"rank-math-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Forefront Suicide Prevention<\/strong><\/a>.
