There were jewelers, furriers, and purveyors of all sorts of things. I didn&#8217;t pay much attention to the jewelers and furriers but I did pay attention to the furniture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>My favorites were tables made by a local Nashville company called <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.sawdustandwhiskey.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Sawdust and Whiskey<\/a><\/strong>. Made from trees from Central and South America like parota, they emphasized the heartwood of the trees.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"480\" height=\"640\" src=\"https:\/\/onlygunsandmoney.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/IMG_5768-rotated.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-33084\" srcset=\"https:\/\/onlygunsandmoney.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/IMG_5768-rotated.jpg 480w, https:\/\/onlygunsandmoney.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/IMG_5768-225x300.jpg 225w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 480px) 100vw, 480px\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>The curved slab or drip slab tables were incredible. They take half of the log and then cut it so it ends in the curve you see above as well as below. These tables sell for approximately $5-6,000.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/onlygunsandmoney.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/IMG_5770-rotated.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-33085\" width=\"488\" height=\"650\" srcset=\"https:\/\/onlygunsandmoney.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/IMG_5770-rotated.jpg 480w, https:\/\/onlygunsandmoney.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/IMG_5770-225x300.jpg 225w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 488px) 100vw, 488px\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>Sawdust &amp; Whiskey also had flat slabs for a more traditional table as well as tables with epoxy inlays.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You also had the lamps and chandeliers made from antler sheds. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/lakeantlerworks.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Lake Antlerworks<\/a><\/strong> from Wyoming also used antlers to form the legs of side and coffee tables.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"480\" height=\"640\" src=\"https:\/\/onlygunsandmoney.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/IMG_5783-rotated.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-33087\" srcset=\"https:\/\/onlygunsandmoney.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/IMG_5783-rotated.jpg 480w, https:\/\/onlygunsandmoney.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/IMG_5783-225x300.jpg 225w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 480px) 100vw, 480px\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>Continuing the outdoor theme but using old parts from outboard motors and agricultural machines was <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/machineagelamps.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Machine Age Lamps<\/a><\/strong>. Some of their stuff had a very Steampunk vibe to it. I loved how they repurposed the old Johnson outboard motor seen below.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"480\" height=\"640\" src=\"https:\/\/onlygunsandmoney.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/IMG_5781-rotated.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-33088\" srcset=\"https:\/\/onlygunsandmoney.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/IMG_5781-rotated.jpg 480w, https:\/\/onlygunsandmoney.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/IMG_5781-225x300.jpg 225w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 480px) 100vw, 480px\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>Chairs made from reclaimed stumps stood out like the ones below. I&#8217;m not sure which company they came from.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"480\" height=\"640\" src=\"https:\/\/onlygunsandmoney.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/IMG_5779-rotated.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-33089\" srcset=\"https:\/\/onlygunsandmoney.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/IMG_5779-rotated.jpg 480w, https:\/\/onlygunsandmoney.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/IMG_5779-225x300.jpg 225w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 480px) 100vw, 480px\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>You also had the more traditional leather and antler furniture as well.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"480\" height=\"640\" src=\"https:\/\/onlygunsandmoney.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/IMG_5780-rotated.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-33090\" srcset=\"https:\/\/onlygunsandmoney.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/IMG_5780-rotated.jpg 480w, https:\/\/onlygunsandmoney.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/IMG_5780-225x300.jpg 225w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 480px) 100vw, 480px\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>Whether it was for your trophy room, man-cave, or dining room, you could find something that would be a statement piece if you looked. You could also go for the British campaign furniture look as well with items from Jim Morando of <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.africansportingcreations.com\/british-campaign-furniture.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">African Sporting Creations<\/a><\/strong>. Unfortunately, I didn&#8217;t get any pictures of it while in Nashville. You will have to look on his website.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To round it out, there was a lot of artwork and sculptures. I particularly liked the bronze below by the late <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.artbrokerage.com\/Loet-Vanderveen\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Loet Vanderveen<\/a><\/strong> which has a patina painted on it. The painting of the elephant is by South African artist <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.derricvanrensburg.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Derric van Rensburg<\/a><\/strong>. Both were represented by <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nativevisions.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Native Visions<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"480\" height=\"640\" src=\"https:\/\/onlygunsandmoney.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/IMG_5802-rotated.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-33091\" srcset=\"https:\/\/onlygunsandmoney.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/IMG_5802-rotated.jpg 480w, https:\/\/onlygunsandmoney.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/IMG_5802-225x300.jpg 225w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 480px) 100vw, 480px\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>Another van Rensburg painting that caught my eye is that of this leopard.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"480\" height=\"640\" src=\"https:\/\/onlygunsandmoney.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/IMG_5762-rotated.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-33092\" srcset=\"https:\/\/onlygunsandmoney.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/IMG_5762-rotated.jpg 480w, https:\/\/onlygunsandmoney.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/IMG_5762-225x300.jpg 225w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 480px) 100vw, 480px\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>There were plenty of more realistic pieces of art at the convention but it was the colorful, impressionistic works that obviously caught my eye.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The SCI Convention will again be held in Nashville.
