He has a story out today on the trial entitled, <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/archive.is\/tAsXy#selection-325.0-325.70\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">&#8220;LaPierre, Longtime N.R.A. Leader, Faces Trial That Could End His Reign.&#8221;<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The article is primarily an overview of the lawsuit from the beginning with nothing new revealed that readers here don&#8217;t already know. That is, except for this little tidbit buried in the story.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>The attorney general\u2019s office has had settlement talks with Mr. Powell, a person with knowledge of the case said, but no deal has been announced.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>That news should not be surprising. Powell has appeared throughout his entire business career to be a survivor despite his many failed business ventures. If his <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/onlygunsandmoney.com\/2020\/09\/08\/this-was-supposed-to-be-the-big-day-for-josh-powell.html\">tell-all book was any indication<\/a><\/strong>, he will say or do anything in order to survive. Given he is now <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/onlygunsandmoney.com\/2023\/07\/31\/nra-still-wants-a-jury-trial-in-manhattan.html\">acting <em>pro se<\/em> or as his own attorney<\/a><\/strong> in this case due to an inability to pay or afford his legal bills, he is the most vulnerable of the defendants in the case. Besides, how much money does the NY Attorney General&#8217;s Office realistically expect to reclaim from him.
