The NRA Women’s Programs Committee sponsors an annual $5,000 scholarship for a young woman working towards a bachelor’s program in wildlife biology, fisheries management, forestry, ecology, environmental science, or other natural resource disciplines that contribute to the sustainable management of wildlife and public lands. The deadline for entry is November 1, 2026.

The Complementary Spouse and I met the winners from 2025 at the 2026 Annual Meeting in Atlanta. They were impressive young women to say the least. If you know of a young woman who could qualify for this scholarship, please encourage them to apply. Higher education is not cheap and every bit of assistance helps.

More on the scholarship:

Open to female students working on a bachelor’s degree at accredited colleges and universities, the scholarship recognizes academic achievement, leadership, and a demonstrated commitment to wildlife conservation. Recipients often study fields such as
wildlife biology, fisheries management, forestry, ecology, environmental science, or other natural resource disciplines that contribute to the sustainable management of wildlife and public lands.

The scholarship reflects the NRA’s longstanding commitment to conservation, a core principle since the organization’s founding. Through educational opportunities like this program, the NRA encourages women to become leaders in protecting wildlife
populations, restoring habitats, conducting scientific research, and promoting responsible stewardship of America’s outdoor heritage.

Beyond financial assistance, the Women’s Wildlife Management Conservation Scholarship highlights the important role women play in conservation. As more women enter careers in wildlife science and natural resource management, they bring valuable
perspectives and expertise that strengthen conservation efforts across the country.

By supporting education and leadership development, the NRA Women’s Wildlife Management Conservation Scholarship helps prepare future conservation professionals to preserve healthy wildlife populations and ensure that outdoor traditions can be
enjoyed by generations to come.
