The case, Huet v. United States, involves Melissa Huet who was indicted on aiding and abetting a felon in possession of a firearm.<\/p>\n<p>She lived with Marvin Hall, described in quaint terms by the court as her paramour, and she owned a Yugoslavian SKS M59\/66. Ms. Huet had no criminal record, no mental health disabilities, and was otherwise legal to own a firearm. The government accused her of aiding and abetting a felon to be in constructive possession of a firearm.
