Apparently, there is even talk that they may classify your<br \/>\n  semi-automatic rifle as a \u201cmachine gun.\u201d<\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"margin-bottom: .0001pt; margin: 0in; text-align: justify; text-justify: inter-ideograph;\">\n<span style=\"font-size: 13.5pt;\"><br \/>\n  Reason and legalities tell us that a machine gun fires continuously and<br \/>\n  automatically with a single function of the trigger.&nbsp; But the BATFE is<br \/>\n  no longer sure that definition suits them. This is because, since the<br \/>\n  definition was established, super high-tech items have been developed, such<br \/>\n  as rubber bands, belt loops, shoestrings and <a href=\"http:\/\/paracom.paramountcommunication.com\/ct\/46068783:WLwF7eohN:m:1:1873331637:65B893357D41767E16C4BB11948BCB75:r\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Jerry<br \/>\n  Miculek<\/a>.&nbsp; The truth is, even with these \u201chigh-tech\u201d devices, nothing<br \/>\n  has really changed. So-called \u201cbump firing\u201d <em><span style=\"font-family: &quot;Calibri&quot;,sans-serif;\">still <\/span><\/em>requires one trigger action for each<br \/>\n  round fired. Yet, the BATFE is looking to \u201cclarify\u201d the <a href=\"http:\/\/paracom.paramountcommunication.com\/ct\/46068784:WLwF7eohN:m:1:1873331637:65B893357D41767E16C4BB11948BCB75:r\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">NFA<\/a><br \/>\n  and whether certain devices, commonly known as bump fire stocks, fall within<br \/>\n  the definition of machine gun. Absurd. <\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"margin-bottom: .0001pt; margin: 0in; text-align: justify; text-justify: inter-ideograph;\">\n<span style=\"font-size: 13.5pt;\"><br \/>\n  With the flick of a bureaucrat\u2019s wrist, your lowly non-NFA firearm (read:<br \/>\n  semi-automatic) may suddenly be elevated to the status of machine gun. It<br \/>\n  will be classified not by trigger action, but by arbitrary firing rate, which<br \/>\n  is something that can be altered by any number of things, including something<br \/>\n  as nebulous as the skill of its owner. The list of items that can affect rate<br \/>\n  of fire also includes innocuous, legal and unrelated things such as: optical<br \/>\n  sights, trigger jobs, muzzle compensators, and who knows what else?<\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"margin-bottom: .0001pt; This is<br \/>\n  dangerous territory where ambiguous language, established by unelected<br \/>\n  government employees, is sure to infringe on the Second Amendment rights of<br \/>\n  The People.<\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"margin-bottom: .0001pt; margin: 0in; text-align: justify; text-justify: inter-ideograph;\">\n<span style=\"font-size: 13.5pt;\"><br \/>\n  The proposed rule references \u201cdevices used with a semiautomatic firearm to<br \/>\n  increase the firearm&#8217;s cyclic firing rate.\u201d Clearly, that sort of open-ended<br \/>\n  language could be used to ban any device that increases the firearm&#8217;s cyclic<br \/>\n  firing rate regardless of trigger action, e.g. trigger jobs, muzzle<br \/>\n  compensators, optical sights, shoestrings, rubber bands, and who knows what<br \/>\n  else?<\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"margin-bottom: .0001pt; margin: 0in; text-align: justify; text-justify: inter-ideograph;\">\n<span style=\"font-size: 13.5pt;\"><br \/>\n  Given that bump stocks do not alter trigger function, firearms remain<br \/>\n  semi-automatic, the BATFE has no legitimate authority to impose this<br \/>\n  infringement on the American people. Indeed, there is no statutory definition<br \/>\n  of \u201cmachinegun\u201d in the National Firearms Act of 1934 nor the Gun Control Act<br \/>\n  of 1968 that would allow the BATFE to make this stretch.<\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"margin-bottom: .0001pt; margin: 0in; text-align: justify; text-justify: inter-ideograph;\">\n<span style=\"font-size: 13.5pt;\"><br \/>\n  Any \u201cBump Fire\u201d rule would be unconstitutional, and any \u201crule\u201d imposed by<br \/>\n  federal bureaucrats is really just a law established without the approval of<br \/>\n  the peoples\u2019 representatives.
