We Don\u2019t Need No Stinking Knives!<\/a><\/p>\n<p>If ever there was a company policy that should have been ignored for <strong>safety reasons<\/strong>, it was the no knife policy of <span class=\"goog-spellcheck-word\">Transocean<\/span>, operator of the <span class=\"goog-spellcheck-word\">Deepwater<\/span> Horizon rig. Survivors of the rig explosion who were in a life raft almost burned to death because they didn&#8217;t have a knife to cut the rope holding the raft to the burning rig.<\/p>\n<p>Given the wide variety of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.landfallnavigation.com\/knives.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">sailor&#8217;s knives<\/a>, I am astounded that any maritime company had a no knife policy.
