They currently are dragging their feet on HB 746 &#8211; the Omnibus Gun Bill &#8211; which has passed the House and which contains constitutional carry as one of its provisions. Senate leadership insisted, as long as<br \/>\ngun owners were patient, as long as we were quiet, and we minded our<br \/>\n&#8220;Ps&amp;Qs,&#8221; we could count on the Senate to uphold their own Party<br \/>\nplatform, live up to campaign rhetoric, and push Constitutional Carry to<br \/>\nthe governor\u2019s desk. Well, we\u2019ve re-learned the lesson about the value<br \/>\nof a politician\u2019s promises. With the projected date of<br \/>\nadjournment fast approaching, July 1st, Republican senators have yet to<br \/>\nbudge on Second Amendment legislation.&nbsp; <u><strong>If they don&#8217;t move<br \/>\nNOW, all gun legislation is likely dead for 2017!<\/strong><\/u><\/p>\n<p>                                                             <span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><strong>Remind Senators of Approaching<br \/>\nElections<\/strong><\/span><br \/> <br \/>\n                          Thank goodness for the ballot box. Every time<br \/>\nan<br \/>\nelection is over, there is always another one just down the road. And<br \/>\nnowadays, voters have electronic reminders on their phones, a<br \/>\ntwenty-four hour<br \/>\nnews cycle, GRNC\u2019s alerts, and GRNC&#8217;s \u201cRemember in November\u201d campaign to<br \/>\n remind them during Primary season, and again in November,<br \/>\nwhich politicians stood with them, and which did not. Nowadays, finding<br \/>\nnew blood to send to Raleigh is almost too easy. <\/p>\n<p>                                              With that in mind, we\u2019re<br \/>\nasking you to once again phone a couple of key Republican senators,<br \/>\nalong with your own senator, and to also send an email to the entire<br \/>\nRepublican<br \/>\nSenate. It appears that the entire Republican caucus may be giving you<br \/>\nthe brush off, and one wonders if they&#8217;re having a good laugh over the<br \/>\nlittle<br \/>\ntrick they played: \u201cBe patient with us, and we\u2019ll live up to our Party\u2019s<br \/>\n platform and our campaign promises.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>                                                                     <strong><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">Wipe That Smug Smile off Their Faces<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>  Well, we\u2019re not laughing, and if these senators do not immediately<br \/>\nredeem themselves in the eyes of gun rights supporters, we the voters<br \/>\nwill<br \/>\nhave the last laugh\u2014during election season. We\u2019ve done our job. We have<br \/>\nconsistently renewed your veto-proof majority, and supported you when<br \/>\nyou needed us, with our money and our votes. Now, as our<br \/>\nrepresentatives,<br \/>\nit\u2019s time to live up to your end of the bargain. Support the Party<br \/>\nplatform you profess to believe in.
