target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">the Illinois Firearms Manufacturers Association had gone neutral<\/a> on an anti-gun bill in the Illinois General Assembly. The bill would add state oversight and licensing to gun dealers and manufacturers in addition to Federal oversight from BATFE. In exchange for going neutral on the bill, manufacturers were dropped from the bill which then passed the Illinois Senate. The vote there was 30-21 on the day before the Annual Meeting got started.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/daysofourtrailers.blogspot.com\/2017\/05\/springfield-armory-statement-on-dealer.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">According to press releases sent out on Monday<\/a>, there were unaware of what their lobbyist was doing. It got worse when it was reported that IFMA had made <a href=\"http:\/\/www.thetruthaboutguns.com\/2017\/05\/john-boch\/springfield-armory-rock-river-arms-made-campaign-contributions-to-anti-gun-rights-politicians\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">contributions <\/a>to anti-gun politicians <a href=\"http:\/\/illinoiscarry.com\/forum\/index.php?showtopic=65594\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">who used that money<\/a> to defeat pro-gun candidates.<\/p>\n<p>Both <a href=\"http:\/\/blog.springfield-armory.com\/springfield-armory-statement-regarding-gun-dealer-licensing-act-sb1657-0\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Springfield Armory<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rockriverarms.com\/images\/pdfs\/RRA_Stmt217.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Rock River Arms<\/a> evidently recognized the PR nightmare was getting worse and announced their resignations from IFMA.
