In Buncombe County where I live, it starts at 10am and runs to 6pm. Times in other counties may differ. The one-stop early voting runs until Saturday, November 5th. You can check the<a href=\"http:\/\/www.ncsbe.gov\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> North Carolina State Board of Elections<\/a> for which district you live in, links to your county elections board, and more.<\/p>\n<p>In time for this, GRNC-PVF has released their recommendations of candidates for the office of President and on down. It is part of their Remember in November project. You will notice that they give recommendations and not endorsements. Key to<br \/>\nthe outcome of that election is North Carolina, which is now regarded as<br \/>\n a hotly<br \/>\ncontested \u201cbattleground state.\u201d Translated, the future of our Republic<br \/>\nis now in your hands. <strong><em>If you fail to vote, if you fail<br \/>\nto bring like-minded people to the polls, Hillary Clinton\u2019s nomination<br \/>\nof the next Supreme Court justice will be, quite literally, your<br \/>\nfault.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>                                                                    <strong>Candidate recommendations versus evaluations:<\/strong><br \/>\n Below are<br \/>\nrecommendations for effective voting strategies by the Grass Roots North<br \/>\n Carolina Political Victory Fund. Candidate recommendations, which are<br \/>\nmore<br \/>\nlimited than blanket \u201cendorsements,\u201d are not made in all races, only in<br \/>\nraces where a clear pro-gun candidate stands out or where<br \/>\nstrategic voting is necessary to keep anti-gun candidates out of office.<\/p>\n<p>Recommendations differ from GRNC candidate evaluations. While the<br \/>\nevaluations are<br \/>\nintended to provide an objective measure of where candidates stand on<br \/>\nSecond Amendment issues, GRNC\u2013PVF recommendations are analytical and<br \/>\ntherefore subject to interpretation. Please&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/paracom.paramountcommunication.com\/ct\/38240223:scSYQTuNM:m:1:345463350:A71804C4299EA37B054659BD1B6D7D6F:r\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">click here<\/a> to find out about<br \/>\nidentification requirements.<\/p>\n<p>                                                                    <strong><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">GRNC CANDIDATE<br \/>\nRECOMMENDATIONS<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>                                                                    <strong>Key to listings:<\/strong><br \/>\n Included in listings below are scores on<br \/>\nGRNC\u2019s candidate survey, pro-gun voting percentage, and GRNC star<br \/>\nevaluation (0-star, *, **, ***, or ****, depending on how closely a<br \/>\ncandidate<br \/>\ncan be expected to agree with a control group of conservative gun<br \/>\nowners). \u201cNR\u201d means the candidate failed to return GRNC\u2019s survey<br \/>\nwhich, for candidates without voting records, gives the candidate a<br \/>\n0-star (0) evaluation.<\/p>\n<p>                                                                    <strong><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">US PRESIDENT<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Thanks to his change in position on key Second Amendment issues, <strong>DONALD<br \/>\nTRUMP<\/strong> now holds a GRNC 3-star (***) evaluation. He may or may<br \/>\nnot be your first choice, but make no mistake: The election of Hillary<br \/>\nClinton<br \/>\nto POTUS absolutely will allow her to make at least one (and probably<br \/>\nmore than one) Supreme Court appointment \u2013 this from a candidate who is<br \/>\non<br \/>\nrecord as saying the SCOTUS decisions affirming an individual right to<br \/>\narms are \u201cwrong.\u201d Without doubt, such a Clinton Supreme Court would<br \/>\nreverse both the Heller and McDonald decisions and pave the way for<br \/>\nmassive gun bans. Beyond Clinton\u2019s fundamental and pervasive corruption,<br \/>\n she<br \/>\nis on record as supporting semi-auto bans, universal gun registration<br \/>\n(a\/k\/a\/ \u201cuniversal background checks\u201d), and Australia-style gun<br \/>\nconfiscation. If Democrats also gain control of the US Senate (see<br \/>\nbelow), the Senate Majority Leader will be Sen. Charles Schumer \u2013 a<br \/>\ndedicated, long-term opponent of gun rights. Do not for a moment think<br \/>\nyou can \u201csit this one out\u201d simply because you don\u2019t like<br \/>\neither candidate. <u><strong>It is your duty to keep Hillary Clinton out of the Oval Office.<\/strong><\/u><\/p>\n<p>                                                                    <strong><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">US SENATE<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>                                                                    In<br \/>\nthis closely contested race which could be key to control of the US<br \/>\nSenate,<br \/>\n<strong><u>GRNC-PVF recommends Republican RICHARD BURR<\/u><\/strong>.<br \/>\nWith a 91%* pro-gun voting record, Burr holds GRNC\u2019s highest 4-star<br \/>\n(****)<br \/>\nevaluation. Opponent Deborah Ross has a long history of antagonism<br \/>\ntoward both gun rights and traditional American values. Beyond her<br \/>\nabysmal 21%<br \/>\nvoting record, as NC House Judiciary Chair, Ross was responsible for<br \/>\nkilling one of GRNC\u2019s first Castle Doctrine bills, despite the fact that<br \/>\n it<br \/>\nhad cleared the Senate and was sponsored by a fellow Democrat. In<br \/>\nfairness, with a 94% survey, Libertarian Sean Haugh also earned a GRNC<br \/>\n4-star<br \/>\nevaluation. Because he will likely garner less than 5% of the vote,<br \/>\nhowever, <strong><u>a vote for Haugh is a vote to put anti-gun Deborah Ross in the<br \/>\nSenate and to potentially give Hillary Clinton the votes needed to pass gun control.<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>                                                                    <strong><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">US HOUSE<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>                                                                    <strong>District 1:<\/strong><br \/>\n With only a 33% voting record, incumbent GK<br \/>\nButterfield earned only GRNC\u2019s lowest 0-star evaluation. Unfortunately,<br \/>\nRepublican challenger H. Powell Dew, Jr. failed to return GRNC\u2019s<br \/>\nsurvey, also earning a 0-star evaluation. <u><strong>GRNC-PVF recommends Libertarian J. J. SUMMERELL<\/strong><\/u> (survey 95%, GRNC ****).<\/p>\n<p>                                                                    <strong>District 2:<\/strong> <u><strong>GRNC-PVF recommends Republican GEORGE<br \/>\nHOLDING<\/strong><\/u>. Holding scored 95% on GRNC\u2019s survey, earning four stars (****), while challenger John McNeil refused to return the survey,<br \/>\nnetting a 0-star evaluation.<\/p>\n<p>                                                                    <strong>District 3:<\/strong> With a 100% survey score and a 97% pro-gun voting<br \/>\naverage, earning a GRNC four-star evaluation (****), <strong>GRNC\u2013PVF continues to recommend incumbent WALTER JONES<\/strong>. Challenger Ernest<br \/>\nReeves refused to return the survey, netting a 0-star evaluation.<\/p>\n<p>                                                                    <strong>District 4:<\/strong> Against longtime anti-gun Democrat David Price (0%<br \/>\nvoting record, GRNC 0), <u><strong>GRNC\u2013PVF recommends SUE GOOGE<\/strong><\/u>, who returned GRNC\u2019s candidate survey with a score of 81%,<br \/>\nearning three stars (***).<\/p>\n<p>                                                                    <strong>District 5:<\/strong> With a 100% GRNC survey score and 100% pro-gun voting<br \/>\nrecord earning GRNC\u2019s highest four-star evaluation (****), <u><strong>GRNC\u2013PVF continues to recommend incumbent VIRGINIA FOXX<\/strong><\/u><br \/>\nover Democrat challenger Josh Brannon, who refused to return GRNC\u2019s survey, netting a 0-star evaluation.<\/p>\n<p>                                                                    <strong>District 6:<\/strong> Although the US House has not had any gun votes in<br \/>\nthe 114th Congress, on the basis of his 99% survey score and GRNC four-star evaluation (****), <u><strong>GRNC\u2013PVF recommends MARK<br \/>\nWALKER<\/strong><\/u> over Democrat challenger Pete Glidewell, who refused to return GRNC\u2019s survey, netting a 0-star evaluation.<\/p>\n<p>                                                                    <strong>District 7:<\/strong> Due to his 100% pro-gun voting record, earning<br \/>\nGRNC\u2019s four-star evaluation (****), <u><strong>GRNC\u2013PVF recommends DAVID ROUZER<\/strong><\/u> over Libertarian challenger J. Wesley Casteen<br \/>\n(82% survey, ***).<\/p>\n<p>                                                                    <strong>District 8:<\/strong> Although the US House has not had any gun votes in<br \/>\nthe 14th Congress, on the basis of his 100% survey score and GRNC four-star evaluation (****), <u><strong>GRNC\u2013PVF recommends RICHARD<br \/>\nHUDSON<\/strong><\/u> over Democrat challenger Thomas Mills, who refused to return GRNC\u2019s survey, netting a 0-star evaluation.<\/p>\n<p>                                                                    <strong>District 9:<\/strong> Due to his 100% pro-gun voting record, earning<br \/>\nGRNC\u2019s four-star (****) evaluation, <u><strong>GRNC\u2013PVF recommends ROBERT PITTENGER<\/strong><\/u> over Democrat challenger Christian Cano,<br \/>\nwho refused to return GRNC\u2019s survey, netting a 0-star evaluation.<\/p>\n<p>                                                                    <strong>District 10:<\/strong> With a 98% GRNC survey score and 100% pro-gun voting<br \/>\nrecord earning GRNC\u2019s highest four-star evaluation (****), <u><strong>GRNC\u2013PVF continues to recommend long term gun rights supporter<br \/>\nPATRICK McHENRY<\/strong><\/u> over Democrat challenger Andy Millard, who refused to return GRNC\u2019s survey, netting a 0-star evaluation.<\/p>\n<p>                                                                    <strong>District 11:<\/strong><br \/>\n Although the US House has not had any gun votes in<br \/>\nthe 14th Congress, on the basis of his 100% survey score, leadership in<br \/>\ndefending gun owners against federal abuses, and GRNC four-star<br \/>\nevaluation<br \/>\n(****), <u><strong>GRNC\u2013PVF recommends MARK MEADOWS<\/strong><\/u> over Democrat challenger Rick Bryson, who refused to return GRNC\u2019s<br \/>\nsurvey, netting a 0-star evaluation.<\/p>\n<p>                                                                    <strong>District 12:<\/strong> Against longtime anti-gun Democrat Alma Adams (11%<br \/>\nvoting record, GRNC 0), <u><strong>GRNC\u2013PVF recommends LEON THREATT<\/strong><\/u>, who returned GRNC\u2019s candidate survey with a score of<br \/>\n85%, earning three stars (***).<\/p>\n<p>                                                                    <strong>District 13:<\/strong> This district represents a rare opportunity for gun<br \/>\nowners to elect a gun rights supporter who has not only talked the talk, but walked the walk. <u><strong>GRNC-PVF strongly recommends Republican TED<br \/>\nBUDD<\/strong><\/u> (survey 100%, GRNC **) over Democrat Bruce Davis<br \/>\n(survey: NR, GRNC 0). Beyond running for Congress, Budd owns a gun shop.<br \/>\n Frankly,<br \/>\nwe should have recommended him in the Republican primary election, but<br \/>\nunderestimated his ability to beat no fewer than 16 Republican<br \/>\nchallengers.<\/p>\n<p>                                                                    <span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><strong>STATEWIDE RACES<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>                                                                    <strong>North Carolina Governor:<\/strong> In this critical and tightly contested<br \/>\nrace, <u><strong>GRNC-PVF recommends PAT McCRORY<\/strong><\/u> (GRNC ***)<br \/>\n over longtime anti-gun Democrat Roy Cooper (58% voting record, GRNC 0).<br \/>\nHaving, in years past, killed pro-gun legislation as NC Senate Judiciary<br \/>\n Chairman, Cooper will most certainly veto any pro-gun legislation GRNC<br \/>\ncould<br \/>\nget passed by the legislature. Although Libertarian Lon Cecil scored 99%<br \/>\n on GRNC\u2019s survey, earning four stars (****), he will draw only a few<br \/>\npercent of the vote, potentially helping Cooper get elected. Cooper must<br \/>\n be kept out of the governor\u2019s mansion at all costs.<\/p>\n<p>                                                                    <strong>North Carolina Lt. Governor:<\/strong> <u><strong>GRNC-PVF recommends<br \/>\nincumbent DAN FOREST<\/strong><\/u>, who scored 95% on GRNC\u2019s survey, earning four stars (****). Challenger Leslie Coleman, during her tenure in<br \/>\nthe NC Senate, voted with gun owners only 67% of the time, earning a low one-star (*) evaluation. <\/p>\n<p>                                                                    <strong>North Carolina Treasurer:<\/strong> <u><strong>GRNC-PVF recommends DALE<br \/>\nFOLWELL<\/strong><\/u> (****) who earned a perfect 100% pro-gun voting record while in the NC House.<\/p>\n<p>                                                                    <strong>North Carolina Attorney General:<\/strong> For the open seat vacated by Roy<br \/>\nCooper, <u><strong>GRNC \u2013 PVF recommends BUCK NEWTON for Attorney General<\/strong><\/u>.<br \/>\n In the NC Senate, Newton has been a leader for gun<br \/>\nrights, cementing passage of three omnibus pro-gun bills. With his 100%<br \/>\nsurvey score and 100% pro-gun voting record, Newton earned GRNC\u2019s<br \/>\nhighest (****) four-star evaluation. By contrast, Newton\u2019s opponent,<br \/>\nanti-gun Sen.
