The two bills signed on Friday by Gov. Jerry Brown (D-CA) which banned the &#8220;bullet button&#8221;, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.leginfo.ca.gov\/pub\/15-16\/bill\/asm\/ab_1101-1150\/ab_1135_bill_20160701_chaptered.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">AB 1135<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/leginfo.legislature.ca.gov\/faces\/billNavClient.xhtml?bill_id=201520160SB880\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">SB 880<\/a>, have very similar language. The laws said that to be exempt from consideration as an &#8220;assault weapon&#8221; the firearm must have a fixed magazine.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"tr_bq\"><p>\n<i>(b)&nbsp;&nbsp;For purposes of this section, \u201cfixed magazine\u201d means an ammunition<br \/>\nfeeding device contained in, or permanently attached to, a firearm in such<br \/>\na manner that the device cannot be removed <b>without disassembly of the<br \/>\nfirearm action<\/b>.<\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.firearmspolicy.org\/blog\/burn-bulletbutton-inventor-owns-governor-jerry-brown-already-has-a-new-gun-control-compliant-device-in-production\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Darin Prince, the inventor of the original Bullet Button, responded<\/a> with something that will drive the gun prohibitionists nuts because it fits within the letter of the law yet allows you to replace a magazine very quickly.
