This is the second round of the same push to turn the law-abiding<br \/>\ninto overnight criminals\u2014 aka Gunpocalypse: Round 2.<\/i><\/span><\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\">\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\">\n<span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><i>\u201cAnti-gun legislators are playing a dangerous<br \/>\ngame of chicken with our civil rights\u201d, says Craig DeLuz, the Director of<br \/>\nPublic and Legislative Affairs for the Firearms Policy Coalition (FPC). \u201cThey<br \/>\nare ignoring their own rules, while playing fast and loose with the facts; all<br \/>\nto see who can beat Gavin Newsom in being the first to take away our Second<br \/>\nAmendment Rights.\u201d<\/i><\/span><\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\">\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\">\n<span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><i>DeLuz is referring to a three-way race between<br \/>\nSenate Pro Tempore Kevin de Leon (D-Los Angeles), Assembly Speaker Anthony<br \/>\nRendon (D-Paramount) and Lt. Governor Gavin Newsom, who\u2019s trying to qualify an<br \/>\ninitiative for the November ballot; to see who can get their package of<br \/>\nanti-gun-owner bills passed into law first. <\/i><\/span><\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\">\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\">\n<span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><i>Sen. de Leon\u2019s package of bills, most of which<br \/>\nwill be heard in the Assembly Committee on Public Safety on Tuesday June 14th,<br \/>\nincludes:<\/i><\/span><\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\">\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"MsoNormal\">\n<\/div>\n<ul>\n<li><i><span style=\"font-family: Symbol;\"><span style=\"font-family: &quot;Times New Roman&quot;; font-size: 7pt; font-stretch: normal;\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/span><b><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\">SB 880 (Hall):<\/span><\/b><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"> Bans common and<br \/>\nconstitutionally protected firearms that have magazine locking devices.<\/span><\/i><\/li>\n<li><i><b><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\">SB 894 (Jackson):<\/span><\/b><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"> Re-victimizes victims<br \/>\nby criminalizing the failure to report lost and stolen firearms.<\/span><\/i><\/li>\n<li><i><b><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\">SB 1235 (de Leon):<\/span><\/b><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"> Restrictions on<br \/>\nammunition purchases, creates a DOJ database of ammunition owners.<\/span><\/i><\/li>\n<li><i><b><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\">SB 1407 (de Leon):<\/span><\/b><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"> Retroactively requires<br \/>\nserial numbers to be placed on firearms dating back at least 50 years.<\/span><\/i><\/li>\n<li><i><span style=\"font-family: Symbol;\"><span style=\"font-family: &quot;Times New Roman&quot;; font-size: 7pt; font-stretch: normal;\">&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/span><\/span><b><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\">SB 1446 (Hancock):<\/span><\/b><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"> Confiscation of<br \/>\nlawfully acquired, standard capacity ammunition feeding devices.<\/span><\/i><\/li>\n<li><i><b><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\">SB 1006 (Wolk):<\/span><\/b><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\">&nbsp; University of California taxpayer funding for<br \/>\ngun control research.
