Go For It, Sean!

If you’ve ever read An NC Gun Blog, you know that Sean Sorrentino loves the KRISS Vector and it is one of his dream guns. Look at the smile on his face after shooting a full-auto version for the first time at the 2011 Lucky Gunner Memorial Day Shoot.

I ran across a little PR tidbit last week that should excite him. Laura Burgess, the North Carolina-based PR and marketing maven to numerous gun companies, has just signed KRISS Arms Group on as a client.

LBM will be working with the KRISS Arms Group to grow their market share, implement emerging media strategies, manage press and writer programs and develop creative and targeted consumer campaigns. LBM has been providing public relations and marketing services to the firearms industry since 2003 and has been a leader in bringing clients into the rapidly evolving world of Internet and emerging media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, LinkedIn, blogs and email newsletter campaigns.

He may not have made enough from the sales of the Gunwalker T-shirts to buy a KRISS but now, just maybe, he could get one on a Test and Evaluation basis.

Go for it, Sean!

Last Day To Order Two Great Gunnie T-Shirts

First, Sean has announced that today is the last day to order your Gunwalker T-shirt. He’ll be placing the order today.

Go here for more information and to place your order. I have mine and it is a great T-shirt!

The second gunnie T-shirt is from the Gun Rights Radio Network. Mark Vanderberg of the Gun Rights Advocates Podcast took a vision that pro-gun, pro-Second Amendment podcasts would help spread “the Gospel” and ran with it. The result is the Gun Rights Radio Network which includes podcasts ranging from Massad Ayoob’s ProArms podcast to the GunDudes podcast and everything in between. Their motto is “Podcasting Freedom, One Episode at a Time.”

Pre-orders for the T-shirt above end today. They cost $17 each including shipping. Proceeds go to supporting GRRN. You can place your order here.

Be the well-dressed gunnie and order one or both of these T-shirts. I have.

A Ph.D. In Biochem Doesn’t Make You An Expert In Everything

Sean has a story about an opponent of HB 111 which would allow concealed carry – but not alcohol consumption – in North Carolina restaurants and eating establishments that serve alcohol. Dr. Art Kamm has his Ph.D. in biochemistry and had worked in the pharmaceutical industry in the development of drugs to fight cancer for a number of years before he retired.

If Dr. Kamm was opining on the efficacy of a certain cancer drug, I would listen to him. If he were talking about clinical trials and the lengthy regulatory process it takes to bring a drug to market, I’d be interested. If he said something about the inner workings of the FDA, I’d assume he had some first hand knowledge. However, if as Dr. Kamm says, that passing HB 111 will scare the tourists, I’d say stick to your area of expertise. Anecdotal stories about one group of visitors from Australia doesn’t make you an expert on tourism or firearms policy.

Art Kamm reminds me of an old crank that lived in Haywood County years ago. Richard Suhre had been a scientist with the Atomic Energy Commission (the predecessor to the Nuclear Regulatory Commission). Suhre was a college educated man from a generation where few people had his level of education. He also thought that made him an expert in everything. He was constantly writing letters to the local paper giving his “learned” opinion on virtually everything. When he was talking about a potential nuclear waste dump in the mountains, he knew what he was talking about. On other things, not so much. So it is with Dr. Kamm.

World Net Daily Did The Right Thing (Updated)

UPDATE: WND has removed the T-shirt in question. From Sean at An NC Gun Blog.

UPDATE: After emailed conversation with WND Editor Joseph Farah, they have pulled the shirt from their e-store! He has given me his personal assurance that a full investigation will commence as soon as everyone gets back to the office on Monday!

Mr. Farah, I want to thank you for your quick response to this situation and I look forward to discussing this with you on Monday. It is clear from your swift handling of this that you are committed to honest dealings and I applaud you for it.

Due to the nature of the Internet, a post once published can never really go away. I have retained the post below for you to read, but be assured that Mr. Farah has handled this already and no further emails to him are necessary, unless you wish to email him with your thanks for his proper handling of it.

On the evening of July 6th, I posted on the breaking story from David Codrea and Mike Vanderboegh regarding the potential involvement of the ATF’s Tampa Field Division in gunwalking to MS-13 in Honduras. The very first person to make a comment on this post was Sean Sorrentino who said, “Am I the only person on the planet that didn’t get guns from the ATF?”. You can see a screen cap of his comment below.

David Codrea read the comment and thought it would make a great T-shirt. He did a post on it on his War On Guns blog on Thursday. Sean ran with the idea and with the help of Robb Allen created a T-shirt featuring HIS comment. He put it up for sale on this Friday. I know because I’ve already bought one.

Sean reports in a blog post this morning that he found out his words and David’s idea were taken by World Net Daily to create a T-shirt.

I got an email from David Codrea, one of the two original “Online Reporters” of the Gunwalker scandal, and the person who suggested that my phrase “Am I the only person on the planet who didn’t get guns from the ATF?” should be put on a t-shirt. He sent me this link. As you can see, the same phrase appears on the WND shirt. I’ve gotten a screen capture as well.

Go to Sean’s website and read the whole story. Go to World Net Daily’s Superstore and let them know what you think of their faux shirt. You can also make your displeasure known to Joseph Farah, the editor and CEO of World Net Daily, by sending him an email at jfarah@worldnetdaily.com .

I fully support capitalistic endeavors. One of the hallmarks of our capitalist system is copyright protection which preserves the rights of the person who first created the literary expression. Unfortunately, WND probably has much deeper pockets than a blogger in North Carolina and any legal action would be too costly to pursue. That said, there is nothing to stop the blogger community from shaming World Net Daily into doing the right thing. Making knock-offs is something that I would expect from Red China and not from a supposedly conservative organization. If Mr. Farah wants to emulate the ChiComms, he is free to do so but we don’t need to approve of it.

Help Sean Buy A Kriss Vector

Sean Sorrentino who blogs at An NC Gun Blog recently made a comment here that went viral. David Codrea of the WarOnGuns Blog and the National Gun Rights Examiner thought his comment would be perfect on a T-shirt and came up with a mocked-up one.

Sean has decided to run with it.

You can order the T-shirt on Sean’s blog. They are only $15 plus $5 shipping which is good deal.

So order a T-shirt today and help Sean buy a Kriss Vector. He really, really wants one after having shot it at the Lucky Gunner Blogger Shoot. In the meantime you will be sticking it in the face of Rep. Elijah Cummings and the others in the gun control industry who want to make this scandal a call for more gun control.

Blatant Mistruths From Anti’s On NC’s HB 650

The anti-gun group, North Carolinians against Gun Violence (NCGV), has issued their “report” on HB 650 which amends various North Carolina gun laws.

Sean at A NC Gun Blog has been reporting on HB 650 and what it would do. He takes apart their attack on the bill bit by bit and shows them for the desparate group that they have become.

While North Carolina specific, it is shows how to dissect and take apart the gun prohibitionists’ arguments as well as showing how they will lie to stop reform.
