Frigid Cold… In LA!
I just stumbled across this video by Jimmy Kimmel of the reaction (or overreaction) to a burst of cool weather in Southern California.
I feel really bad for them having to suffer those cold temperatures.
However, it might toughen them up a bit so that they could come to my part of the sunny South where the current temperature is 23º with an expected overnight low of 18º. We are expecting snow and sleet for most of tomorrow.

I think I should be compliant given what I see in my desk drawer though I do have a secret stash of some of those magazine clips of high capacity. You just never know when you’ll need them.
We Need A Little Laughter
This parody of gun-free zones is ostensibly from Fox News. I doubt that but it is still rather funny and points out the fallacy of gun-free zones. To expect criminals who are already breaking the law to obey a gun-free zone sign is ridiculous.

Misleading Headline Of The Day
Headlines can be misleading. You might think it means one thing and the author meant something entirely different. A prime example would be this headline which most definitely qualifies for the misleading headline of the day award.
MILF Rebels Want To Keep Guns
The average American guy steeped in popular culture is probably thinking this.
Unfortunately, the MILF rebels that the headline refers to are these guys.
WTF?! Those aren’t MILFs. Actually they are. They are from the Moro Islamic Liberation Front which is fighting in the southern Philippines.

The moral of the story is that headlines can be misleading and that fantasies are just that – fantasies.
Some Things Just Can’t Be Made Up
In our increasingly urbanized society people are losing their connection to the natural world. Sometimes it is so bad you don’t know whether to laugh or cry.
For example in the clip below a woman calls into a Fargo, ND radio station complaining about deer crossing signs as they, in her opinion, are encouraging the deer to cross the road there. She wants to the signs moved to lower traffic density areas because then the deer will go there to cross the road instead.
I can only hope that this call was made up and there really isn’t someone that stupid driving our highways or voting for that matter.

As anyone who has been paying attention to the gun world recently knows, the former editor of RECOIL Magazine, Jerry Tsai, channeled his inner-Zumbo and made stupid comments about who should or shouldn’t be allowed to have the HK MP7A1. I’m not going to rehash the controversy or his comments.
However, this video is for Jerry and those who only think only guns with “sporting purposes” are appropriate for the great unwashed like you and me.
Even The Deer In Texas Are Conservative
A couple in Austin, Texas was frustrated that their yard sign touting Obama was continually getting destroyed. After staking it out one morning, they found to their amazement that it wasn’t some dastardly Republican but rather a whitetail deer.
Even the deer in Texas have the good sense to know that Obama and his policies are just not right for America.
