by The Shot Heard ‘Round the World aka the Battle of Lexington and Concord was 251 years ago today. It marked the armed struggle for American independence from Great Britain. I always like to acknowledge this date on the blog along with other historical dates.

Sad to say but the current government of Massachusetts from Gov. Maura Healey (D-MA) on down have done more for gun control in the Bay State than General Gage sending the regulars forth to confiscate the gun powder in Concord. They still proclaim “Patriots Day” but I doubt they live it.

Note the organization of the patriots. They may not have been a disciplined military force like the redcoats but there was nothing wrong with their communication system. It was the massive reinforcements from “every Middlesex village and farm” that allowed them to win at Concord.
