by I stumbled across a YouTube channel today featuring two sisters who are defectors from North Korea.
Many of their videos feature sisters Ina and Hana driving across the United States where they are experiencing many facets of American life. It could be small town Texas, Buc-ees, big American cities like NY and Chicago, or, as in the video below, American gun culture.
Watching the wonder in these sisters’ eyes as they experience America – and freedom – is truly heartening. As they said in one of the videos, they couldn’t choose where they were born but now they are free to choose how they live. Sometimes it takes an outsider’s eyes to open our own eyes to what we have.
