In another of his short videos on long range shooting made for the National Shooting Sports Foundation, Ryan Cleckner discusses the advantages of shooting from a bag versus using a tripod. For Cleckner it comes down to two things – consistency and having his gear available.

Ryan Cleckner On Head And Scope Position
Ryan Cleckner is the author of the Long Range Shooting Handbook and a former Ranger sniper. His book is an excellent primer on getting started in long range shooting.
In this video for the National Shooting Sports Foundation, Cleckner discusses the proper positioning of your head and scope for prone long range shooting. He makes an excellent point when he says if it isn’t right, change it. The scope and stock should adjust to you and not the other way around.
Hemispheric Distortions In Long Distance Shooting
Ryan Cleckner is an attorney. He is also a former sniper who served with the Army Rangers. He has made a series of videos for NSSF and has written an excellent book on long range shooting. In his latest video he explains the impact on hemispheric distortions on shooting. If you are planning a safari to southern Africa – Namibia, Zimbabwe, or South Africa – you should really pay attention.
You should also pay attention to what day it is and I don’t mean Easter.
Ryan Cleckner On Cleaning Your Bolt Action Rifle
The National Shooting Sports Foundation has just released another in its series of YouTube videos featuring rifle shooting with Ryan Cleckner. In this video, he discusses how to properly clean your bolt action rifle along with the proper tools and solvents. After watching this video, I’m buying one of those Parker-Hale jags! They look like they make things a whole lot easier.
