by That was the headline on an email sent out by the Cult of Personality known as Giffords about a week ago. I am fully in accord with them on remembering these four names. My reasoning, of course, is a bit different than theirs.
Here is who they want you to remember:
Jon Ossoff.
Roy Cooper.
Sherrod Brown.
James Talarico.
These four GIFFORDS-endorsed Democrats are running for the U.S. Senate, and the outcome of their races will decide whether we can take back a gun safety majority.
There is no Senate majority if we don’t win these four races.
I agree with them 100% that the Democrats would probably have a Senate majority if these four win.
Unlike them, I think that is a bad thing for your enumerated Second Amendment rights. What they call “gun safety” (sic) is nothing more than gun control or even gun prohibition.
Likewise, judges that will defend your rights will be less likely to be able to be confirmed. And it isn’t just your gun rights. The judges that people like their fellow Democrat Elissa Slotkin would want confirmed would use the novel 1984 as a how-to guide instead of the warning that Orwell intended.
Insofar as needing your money, according to FEC reports, these four all rank in the top five in terms of monies raised by senatorial candidates. Combined they have raised just short of $410 million. The faux Texan James Talarico has raised over $146 million alone with over half coming in unitemized donations that could be coming from who knows where.
I have already voted for Roy Cooper’s opponent Michael Whatley. Regardless of whether you vote early or on Election Day, get out there and vote like your rights depend on it because they do.
