More NRA Reform Candidates Need Your Signatures

Frank Tait has just published a list of reform candidates seeking signatures to be put on the 2026 NRA Board of Directors election ballot. Many were recruited by LtCol Robert Brown whose reform efforts got him pushed off the Board after his term ended. He was ignored by the Nominating Committee which was at the time still run by the Old Guard. I should note LtCol Brown is running, too.

Looking over the list, I see the names of many whom I know and trust to do the right thing if elected. I have endorsed Rob Beckman in June. Huey Laugesen of the Colorado State Shooting Association serves with me on the Membership Committee and is a breath of young fresh air. Charles Brown was one of two write-in candidates on the Elect A New NRA slate in the past election. Steve Schreiner is a long time Board member who has consistently been on the reform side. Randy Luth of Luth-AR was one of the first industry insiders to say enough is enough with regard to Wayne. I don’t know some of the rest but an endorsement by LtCol Brown and Frank Tait says everything that needs to be said.

Here is the list along with links from Frank’s Substack.

  1. Just got this interesting error as a Life Member…
We’re sorry, but the member ID you entered doesn’t match an eligible voting membership. To check your member ID or voting status, please contact – webmaster@nrahq.org or go to https://www.nramemberservices.org/. Thank you for your support of the NRA’s nomination process!

Code glitch, or somehow Reform Voters being identified and blocked from the process? I did change mailing address in the past few months, and while Member Services has the correct address listed it might not have been migrated into the e-petitions eligibility system.

Tried to CC you and Rocky Marshall on the WTF email but couldn’t find past sent/received emails, Frank Tait is getting a BCC though since one of HIS signers is being disenfranchised.

    1. I think it is a database glitch. By this I mean the database used to confirm the signer is authentic has some errors in it.

  2. Anyone else with a Life membership having the system reject your member number as Ineligible?

    1. I would contact either the webmaster or the Secretary’s Office. Talking with one person who had issues, they had his Zip Code wrong and that prevented him from voting. Once corrected, all was good.

If you get no help from the webmaster, contact Laura Green at lgreen@nrahq.org. She will get to the bottom of it.

      1. I think I’m at least one of the people you exchanged emails with. Hope it helps anyone else getting caught in this too. A few more to sign today, then waiting for the next batch to drop.

    2. I was having a problem because I included the zip+4 from my magazine label. Should have only been 5 digit zip. HQ tells me I don’t need the preceding zeros, only my actual membership number. After these corrections the nominations worked for me with the Firefox browser.
