Rep. Trey Gowdy On Fact Finding Trip To Mexico

Rep. Trey Gowdy (R-SC) represents the Spartanburg area of South Carolina. Prior to running for Congress in 2010, he served for many years as the elected Solicitor (prosecutor/DA) for the Spartanburg area. He serves on the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee and accompanied Rep. Darrell Issa to Mexico over the weekend as part of the investigation into Operation Fast and Furious (aka Project Gunwalker). He spoke with Ginny Simone of NRA News on Monday about the trip.

  1. SO Issa is reported to have been in meetings with ATF last year. He was reportedly briefed on FF and GR. Yet I see no blogs commenting on that.
My point…an R after the name does not mean they support what you do. If we do not monitor ALL these guys, we could still get sold down the road.

  2. Who's "reporting" Issa was briefed on FF and GR by ATF last year? The same executive branch bastards complicit in god knows how many murders and lesser violent crimes trying to get out of being held responsible?

  3. @Brian J: If Issa was briefed, and he might have been, it probably didn't go into details. It probably was something like "we have an operation in AZ that is trying to stop straw purchases". In other words, no detail and utterly forgettable.

I don't disagree about monitoring ALL of these guys. However, I see the leaked reports from a confidential hearing as being a counter-attack to stave off embarrassment for the Obama Administration.
