SCI Convention

The Complementary Spouse and I will be attending the Safari Club International convention in Nashville in two weeks.

There will be exhibitors from all over the world including firearm companies, optics companies, and the like. This will be in addition to the many, many outfitters from Africa, Alaska, Canada, the continental US, and a multitude of other locations.

If there is any exhibitor or vendor you would like us to check out, please let me know in the comments. Here is a link to all the exhibitors.

  1. You don’t have to make a special visit, but I notice that SDS imports will have a booth there. I have seen that they released a new 1911 called the Tisas Stingray, in both 9mm and .45 acp. I am interested in finding one in 9mm to handle, as I had a Commander 1911 in .45 acp, which is the gun that I shot better than any other pistol I ever have shot. But I standardized to one caliber, that being the 9mm, due to both cost and storage area reasons.
I am only seeing the gun at one or two online distributers right now, but they released it back in November, I think. So first, do you know about this gun, and typically how long does it take for dealers to get them on their shelves?
It has some very desirable features for a gun that is less than $600.
Again, don’t make any special searches, just wondered if you knew about this gun, or have any information as to how long it takes to hit the pipeline.
    Thanks
    Tim

    1. I got to shoot the Tisas Stingray in 9mm at Industry Day at the Range. As I remember it, the Stingray shot well and it was a nice pistol. I agree with you that it is hard to find a pistol with those features for less than $600. I also shot the PX9 which was a very decent striker-fired pistol regardless of its low cost.

SDS Imports/Tisas is located in Knoxville, TN.
