Anti-Gunners Don’t Understand

If you read the comments from the anti-gun forces yesterday on the resignation of Wayne LaPierre, you would have thought it was all their doing. Moreover, they think this portends a shift in attitudes towards gun control such that gun owners will now joyfully join with the prohibitionists to urge passage of nonsensical gun control laws.

The tweet below and the response is the reality.

I’ve long said to the Complementary Spouse that the gun prohibitionists are not going to like what they get if they destroy the NRA. The successor organizations such as GOA, SAF, and FPC will be much less likely to want to compromise on the Second Amendment. Now is the time for the NRA to get its act together, reform the Board, and become the meaningful organization in terms of both training and 2A advocacy that it can be.

  1. They don’t realize the extent that we previously loyal NRA benefactors have starved the NRA of income due to this corruption and funneled out money to those other groups.

Look at the millions pissed away by the NRA and think about what that money will accomplish once the house is swept clean.

  2. So Wayne turns out to be gun control’s best friend, diverting tens of millions of dollars away from gun rights and now does he get his $17 million parachute?

    1. The $17 million golden parachute came up in 2021 in a transcript done during the abortive bankruptcy trial. I even had a director asking me about it this weekend. What I don’t know is if it still is a thing as it was in an older employment contract and may have been renegotiated in his current contract when it came to light.

NRA In Danger referred to it in a post yesterday. I would love to see some proof of it. If it is merely monies Wayne himself set aside in his 457(f) non-qualified deferred compensation plan then I have no issue with it. If it is a a goodbye present, then that is another thing.

    2. He didn’t divert the money away from the cause. He diverted it from the NRA to the SAF, GOA etc.

      1. That refers to donations current and foregoing. I was referring to the past donations while we were all still giving to the nra.
Still quite a few donating even now.

  3. As long as the AH takes his $17-mil parachute and leaves. And takes his cartel with him.

Maybe the NRA will start up their mission again.
