If Today Is Golf Day In NC, What Was Yesterday?

Gov. Roy Cooper (D-NC) has proclaimed August 31st as “Golf Day” in North Carolina.

Given his actions yesterday, August 30th was unofficially proclaimed “Jim Crow Law Preservation Day”.

  1. Any legislator who has time to debate and vote on a “Blah Day” resolution probably has too much time on their hands. Perhaps shorter sessions and/or more attention to repealing bad laws?

    On a related note, friend had a calendar during college (80s) called the “Reasons to Party” calendar. Each day had a list of a bunch of celebrations that one could use as an excuse to throw a party. Pre-internet it was pretty fun.
