Everytown Really Stoops Low

Everytown wants you to know where gun dealers are in your neighbor. They especially want you (and thieves) to know the home addresses of dealers. They even have an interactive map to assist you in this.

Liberty Doll has done an excellent expose’ of the Everytown efforts in a YouTube video published today.

The only class of those with Federal Firearm Licenses not included are those of us with Curios & Relics Licenses. This is because they say we “are not engaged in sales and thus are not included in the analysis in this report.” How nice of them to not put targets on our backs.

You can read the whole so-called report here.

I would encourage you to share Liberty Doll’s YouTube with your friends. As a reminder, some newspapers in the past have published maps and databases containing the name and address of everyone in a state with a CCW. In places where there is registration of either owners such as Illinois or firearms such as with handguns in New York, what is to say that Everytown won’t publish these names under the heading “do you know your neighbor owns a gun!”.

This effort of Everytown reminds me of the “hate group” (sic) map published by the Southern Poverty Law Center which has led some disturbed individuals to attack these groups. Both should be condemned for what they are: an incitement to violence and theft.

  1. No, the reason Everytown didn’t include C&R FFLs is because the ATF doesn’t publish the license info for C&R FFLs. I’m sure they would have included them if they could get that info. For what it’s worth, the ATF has put the FFL list online for almost a decade, here: https://www.atf.gov/firearms/listing-federal-firearms-licensees. All Everytown did was parse that info and publish it in map form. IMO the ATF deserves more (but not all) the ire here.

As an aside, I found that there’s a home FFL in my subdivision about a quarter mile away from me, so I’m going to see if he does transfers. Thanks, I guess?

  2. It is like a gun rights group was to publish the names and home addresses on a map of all of the leaders and top supporters of Everytown online, with the thought that perhaps some nutjob out there with no sense might try and find them and go all crazy and shoot the crap out of their house, with as many people home at the time as possible. Not that law abiding gun owners would ever resort to the tactics that the left has no problem repeating over and over again.
In fact, at the risk of someone bringing up the dread N word, in Germany they encouraged this sort of behavior against a group of people, and it was very effective. I am not saying that these people are that N word. I am saying that they are following closely in the tactics that those people used. And they have no shame in doing so.

    1. You beat me to it. I hope someone does and they cry about it. Turnabout is fair play.

  3. It is simply impossible to live in the same country with these people. They won’t stop and violence from the Left will continue to escalate. When we have the National Divorce, they get custody of the ATF.

  4. Some years ago, didn’t New York publish all their gun licensees’ data, and then didn’t one of their media outlets parse it into an interactive map?

And didn’t the gun-owning community across the nation say that was going to be used by violent criminals as a “shopping list”? (And then, didn’t that very thing happen?)

History doesn’t always repeat, but it does rhyme.
