Let’s Get Rocky Marshall On The NRA Ballot (Updated)

UPDATE: Time is running out for petition candidates for the NRA Board of Directors to obtain the necessary signatures. Rocky must submit all signatures by November 7th. This means he needs everything in hand ASAP. If you are eligible to vote in the 2024 election for NRA Board of Directors and you have not signed the petition, DO IT NOW!

As a reminder, the Nominating Committee has nominated 28 people for the 25 board seats up for election. A full 25 of these people are already on the Board. It is the same old, same old which has allowed the NRA to flounder, to be brought into court in New York, and which has allowed grifters like Wayne, Marion, and company to get away with it for years.

Rocky Marshall is stepping up to run for the NRA Board of Directors. I have run guest posts from Rocky as well as have highlighted the work he had done in bringing reform to the NRA. His work analyzing the finances of the NRA has been insightful. Rocky sought to intervene in the NRA dissolution lawsuit so that someone would actually be representing the members and not Wayne’s interests. Unfortunately, it was denied.

I have sent in the names of both Rocky and Judge Phil Journey to the Nominations Committee. They, like I, fully expect that the nominations will be blown off in favor of someone who won’t rock the boat. Thus, Rocky is seeking to get on the ballot by petition. This year, thanks to the abysmal voter turnout in 2023, one only need approximately 375 valid signatures to get on the ballot.

So what is a valid signature? It would be that of a Life Member of any level or that of a five-year continuous member. If there had been any break in your annual membership during that five years, the clock starts again.

From Rocky’s email to me:

In 2021, I was selected to be on the National Rifle Association Board of Directors. During my tenure, I served a one-year term and worked diligently to change the management and the direction of the NRA due to the corruption that had occurred.  I am once again attempting to be reelected to the Board of Directors in hopes of working to save the NRA from the current demise.  If you would like to help me, and you are an NRA Life Member, please print out the attached petition and fill in your information and sign where indicated. If you are able to obtain additional NRA Life members on the form, please feel free to do so.

ALL SIGNATURES MUST BE ORIGINAL.

Please mail the petition to the following address:

Rocky Marshall

975 Turkey Knob

Boerne, TX 78006

As noted above this, a 5-year member also qualifies. That said, there is never a question regarding Life Members.

I have embedded both the petition and a bio for Rocky below. Send back the signed petition with your membership number to Rocky at the address he provided. If you have friends who are NRA Life Members, have them sign it as well.

Both the Complementary Spouse and I have signed the petition and will be mailing back to Rocky ASAP.

  1. The only way the NRA will change at this point is if the entire leadership and BoD dies or goes to prison. One man will have about as much effect as a single bucket will on the ocean. The patient has cancer, and prefers to die rather than be treated. Let them die.
Which makes me wonder at the motivation of any one man running for the board – is he another innocent fool or another aspiring criminal? And if he is innocent, how long before he becomes corrupted in turn, or resigns in disgust?
No, this Life Member will not feed any more good men or women into that charnel pit of thieves and corruption, and judges them to have a sufficiency of scoundrels already.
I will not vote for another board member. I’m fine sending good men and women to be ruined.
Let the NRA eat itself and expire.

    1. Auto corrupt changed “done” to “fine” in that second to last sentence.
      It should read:
“I’m done sending good men and women to be ruined.”

  2. It is difficult to understand those with the position that we should throw out the baby with the bath water. Most do not understand the work NRA once did. We all see the “newsworthy” efforts done by the people at ILA. Lobbying and political action make news. Kids and women’s program like Women on Target do not. Saving NRA and NRA-ILA is in the best interest of gun rights. The clouds on the political horizon are really dark. I have been trying to explain to my prolife friends that they were in trouble since Roe was reversed. They won’t listen. They simply can’t see it with their philosophical blinders on. They are the dog that caught the car. Kansas and Ohio may be bellwether states. Couple that, with the demise of NRA and the chaos in the Republican party in about a dozen states. Shave 10 points off your expectations. Even if we gain the Senate we will lose the House. Suburban moms are back with a vengeance. Trump will depress Republican GOTV and drive Democrats to the polls.   This will trickle down the ballot. Getting rid of WLP might save the republic.
If NRA does collapse before July the loss of the Magazine, Orange Postcards and NRA’s GOTV will have a significant effect. The loss of over a million members during my term on the board, is the loss of a 4 million voters. They didn’t join any other organization. They aren’t activists, they’re hobbyists. They were dutiful, they followed direction and they won’t get that direction anymore. One of the greatest reasons to get in deeper in this swamp is especially in the NY and DC cases, it is to protect the lists. There is a truly great risk that Laticia James will do the same as her AG friend in California and out us all. After all she campaigned that we were criminals and terrorists.  This is the biggest cluster I have ever seen.

    1. I had honestly allowed myself to forget about this for a while, but the recent bump update brought the above “reply” to my eyes. There will be some profanity involved below. I’m steamed.

      1. NRA has not done that work in years. It’s been too busy hiding the corruption of its own board, claiming credit for others’ victories to fund raise, and telling people to shut up and stop demanding our rights or the electorate will get scared.
      2. What newsworthy efforts? What cases have NRA actually spearheaded in the last 20 years? Even the NOLA cases, NRA was Johnny Come Lately.
      3. I don’t care about “programs.” I have yet to see one that was NOT a waste of money. At least, not one done by NRA in the last 20 years.
      4. Saving NRA is in our best interests? Pull the other leg: it’s got bells.
      5. Ah, the good old abortion bogeyman. Never mind that was NEVER voted on, NEVER had majority support, and ALWAYS has been used as a Cucuy to tell good little conservative children to shut up and let the adults talk. No. You show your GOPe colors, and they’re yellow.
      6. Bellweather states? Try “vote fraud.” I don’t think we’ve had a single actually honest national election since JFK getting elected by Chicago’s cemetaries, if not before; some landslides were simply too large to fraud away.
      7. Demise of NRA and Republican chaos. Fear mongerer. We should all sit down, shut up, and listen to our wise elders tell us what to think. No. Your ways of thinking already fucked us and gave us Bush 2, McCain, and Romney. It gave us Paul Ryan. No.
      8. Gain the senate, lose the house. You fear mongerer, you doomer, why are you even trying, then? Go sit in your bunker if you have one, or take your money and run to the Caymans. Give up. You’re telling us to.
      9. Trump will depress Republican GOTV. BECAUSE THE REPUBLICAN OLD GUARD REFUSES TO FUCKING SUPPORT HIM OR ANYONE LIKE HIM. I seriously and with great anticipation AWAIT the demise of the Republican party, if this is what they truly are now. I can go be a conservative constitutionalist elsewhere if all I’m getting from “my” party is doomerism and despair. Trump fights. The successes of 16-20 were in spite of Republican leadership, not because of them, and this includes the Republican victory of 16. The GOPe told us to sit down and shut up. We refused. So they decided to ignore the fraud in 20 as punishment for us rebelling.
      10. Getting rid of WLP might save the republic. Frankly, my dude, getting rid of WLP might save the NRA a year or two more, at most. The pathetic little worm isn’t that important, and NRA simply has no more influence. GOA, SAF, NAGR, and millions of private citizens have stepped up. And, unlike the NRA, we normally can NOT be bought.
      11. The Magazine? Orange Postcards? GOTV? You do realize that most people have no idea what the hell these even are? They have no influence left. If you mean NRA’s glossy magazines, they’re usually at least 2 months out of date; we have this new fangled thing called the “internet” to stay up to date. If the postcards are the recommended ballots, then fuck the NRA and it deserves to die, because the last election they told me to vote for a confirmed liberal gun grabber. And TV… please. Brandon Herrera has done more pro 2A groundwork in the last 6 months than NRA’s expensive television boondoggles.
      12. Loss of over a million members, etc blah blah followed directions, were dutiful according to what they were told to do. If that’s what you think of us, as fucking PEONS, then you deserve to lose. Also, you assume much in dismissing anything else they (actually, WE) may do as “hobby,” and deny influence. You have no idea how much membership in other groups has grown.
      13. Deeper in the swamp to protect the lists. I don’t even know what you mean by this.
      14. Out us all… you act like we’re closet gays or Jews, hiding in fear from the Nazis. Or, in this case, closet gun owners afraid that big old mean government will find out we have them and come take them from us. Molon. Fucking. Labe.
      15. We have been labeled as criminals at least since 1935 and the passage of NFA. We have been labeled as terrorists ever since calling us baby killers fell out of favor.

If you’re the best to offer, then you know what? We might as well roll over, give up, and bare our necks for our slave collars to the left and to government. Sit down, shut up, do as we’re told, and eat our oatmeal. If you’re a “reform candidate” and you’re spewing this fear mongering doomer bullshit, then the NRA NEEDS to die.

And to the blog owners? If this is what you are supporting, then I’m done with you, as well as the NRA. I’m not going to come back. You have lost all credibility with me at this point.
      Just like the NRA.
